Practical visit notes

  • Izmir's foreign-resident base skews European and US; English is more commonly understood at the counter than in many other provinces — but do not depend on it for legal substance.
  • Coastal districts (Çeşme, Foça, Seferihisar) get tight appointment availability in summer; out-of-season months are easier.
  • Bornova and Konak have the highest concentration of student permits — academic-year peaks (September, January) are crowded.
