What do Israelis need to know before moving to Türkiye?
- Bring apostilled originals of birth certificate, marriage certificate, and any criminal record certificate. Israeli apostille is processed by the Israeli Ministry of Justice.
- Most Israeli arrivals base in Istanbul — Şişli, Beyoğlu and Beşiktaş are the historical Jewish-community districts; Ataşehir and Kadıköy on the Asian side are newer hubs.
- Driving: Israeli driving licences are accepted for the first 6 months; after that, exchange or local Turkish licence required.
- Healthcare: most arrivals buy private Turkish insurance ($80–250/month per adult). Israeli kupot holim do not generally cover routine care in Türkiye.
